Do you believe everything you read?

I'm still a pushover for the printed word. I love the newspaper. I think it's wonderful to get your fingers dirty while drinking coffee and ingesting information. I call THAT the 'Breakfast of Champions'! I know I'm being a little silly, but the truth is I trust a word on a page perhaps because someone sat and thought about a subject and was willing to commit that subject to a scrutiny that was more lasting than a disposable sound-bite. Sure you can just read the headlines but I think you're more likely to read the article. To take a moment, breath and travel through the subject from beginning to end. It's satisfying. Like a meal instead of fast food.

And it's cheap.  .$75 for all those pages?  For all that stimulation?  For the funnies and the movies and SPORTS?  I know, I know.  You can get what you want, slice and dice, online.  But how much do you absorb with flying ads and flashing colors and instant surveys, click the x....interrupt your train of thought....get a little CRANKY even.

So what does this have to do with Real Estate?  Everything.  Real Estate is not just scrolling through properties on any number of online websites, getting that instant fix, a snapshot of a neighborhood or a price but not REAL information.  You can't read between the lines to find the texture of the wood or the true color of the paint or hope that the photos and virtual tours portray the room sizes and traffic flow of the layout accurately.

Snapshots are great and you don't have to feel pressured by an agent drooling at the thought of a commission.  But in reality the good ones, and we are many.... are the long form.  The whole newspaper. Filled with information on real value and best buys and disclosures and interest rates and  schools and guidance.  We are counselors and we're looking with you at the future and helping you make solid decisions however long it takes.

Not unlike sitting and reading and taking the time to learn the whole story.
